Concord, N.H. - This Mother’s Day, here’s what Governor Chris Sununu is giving to New Hampshire moms and their families:
A fresh veto of paid family and medical leave;
A reminder that Sununu called paid family and medical leave “a vacation” – not recognizing at all that it’s a time when families are strained and stressed;
Another lie about paid family and medical leave – his veto killing a program he promised to support;
A phony, half-baked substitute proposal that fails New Hampshire families.
More lies about the critical pro-family legislation he killed, all part of his self-serving effort to advance his phony proposal.
So it may be a happy day for Chris Sununu, but for moms and families who need paid family medical leave, Sununu fails.
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement in response: "Chris Sununu's veto was shameful, and he showed the working families of New Hampshire exactly how much he cares about their needs. On Mother's Day, and every day, New Hampshire deserves better."
