NHDP Response to Sununu's GOP Inviting Trump Advisor with Russian Ties to New Hampshire

Concord, N.H. - Governor Chris Sununu and the NH GOP announced yesterday that they have invited Trump advisor Michael Caputo to New Hampshire for a Lincoln Day Dinner, despite his deep ties to Russia and his central position in the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement in response:

"Although the similarities between Chris Sununu and Donald Trump are overwhelming, I am shocked to see Sununu follow the President in embracing a figure with such deep ties to Russia as Michael Caputo. Russia attacked the United States in 2016, and if Governor Sununu cares about protecting our democracy from foreign interference, he will condemn this invitation and revoke it immediately."
