Chris Pappas Takes Commanding Lead as Voters Continue to Learn of Edwards' Extreme Agenda

Concord, N.H. - Tonight, the New Hampshire Institute of Politics released polling showing Chris Pappas leading Eddie Edwards 44% to 36% with 20 days remaining to Election Day. The poll also reveals Pappas leads Edwards in favorability ratings by a 19-point margin.

NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement:

“As we get even closer to Election Day, voters will continue to oppose Edwards, particularly after learning of his promise to 'start weaning people off Social Security,’ an agenda that would effectively deny Granite Staters their life savings. Edwards also does not want government involved with health care and would have voted against the Medicaid expansion, which 53,000 Granite Staters rely on.

“In stark contrast to his rival, whether it’s standing up for good paying jobs, securing the Affordable Care Act and Medicare, providing quality education to our children, or standing up for women’s rights, Chris Pappas is on the right side of the issues. That’s why he’s even been endorsed by prominent Republicans. With the political climate in D.C. it’s important that we elect our next champion.

“Chris’ leadership skills simply cannot be matched by Edwards and with the political climate in D.C. it’s important that we elect our next champion, not a Trump rubber stamp who will sell out Granite Staters to toe the party line.”
