Chris Pappas Locks in Five Debates Ahead of Election Day
Concord, NH -- Why has Eddie Edwards yet to announce his commitment to any debates in the general election? Meanwhile, Chris Pappas today announced his commitment to five debates in the remaining five weeks of the election. This comes after a primary campaign in which Edwards walked away from a debate against his opponent Andy Sanborn with a Pappas participating in over 20 events during his primary.
NHDP Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement:
"The voters of New Hampshire are waiting with bated breath for Edwards to accept this debate schedule, even after the NHGOP expressed their eagerness for candidates to commit. Even if Edwards does agree, his record in the primary begs the question of whether he’ll even show up ready to debate.
“If Edwards shows up he will have ample opportunity to be held accountable for his backward record of support for the Republican tax scam paid for by cutting Social Security and Medicare, his radical support to limit access to safe abortion even in the case of rape and incest, and his support for Trump’s efforts to strip away protections for pre-existing conditions and sabotage of the Affordable Care Act. Come to think of it, is this why he has yet to agree to debate?”
