Concord, N.H. - NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement on the passing of prominent attorney and longtime Democratic Leader Bill Craig: "It is with great sadness that we learned this afternoon of the passing of Bill Craig of Manchester. Bill was one of New Hampshire's most respected lawyers and a leading Democrat. Bill served as the Chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party in the 1960s and twice as Democratic Leader in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Bill was a key leader in John F. Kennedy's New Hampshire presidential campaign and President Kennedy appointed Bill as US Attorney in 1961. Our hearts go out to Bill Craig's family, which includes his son, former House Democratic Leader Jim Craig, his grandson, a former top aide to Senator Maggie Hassan and his niece, Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig.”
