Concord, N.H. - Today, the Republican-controlled New Hampshire House voted to send HB 1811 to Interim Study, effectively killing the House proposal to reauthorize the New Hampshire Health Protection Program, the state's version of Medicaid Expansion. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: "It's disappointing that the House rejected the Democratic proposal for Medicaid Expansion reauthorization. This issue is too important to take any options off the table and every proposal to keep this program going deserves a robust conversation. We're hopeful about the possibility of the State Legislature coming to a bipartisan agreement on an issue that affects more than 50,000 Granite Staters and serves as a crucial tool to combat the opioid crisis. Democrats are committed to a reauthorization that continues to cover everyone it covers today."
