NHDP Statement on Frank Edelblut's appointment to the Advisory Council on Diversity & Inclusion

NHDP

Concord, N.H. - Today, Governor Sununu announced the members of New Hampshire's newly formed Advisory Council on Diversity & Inclusion. Among those appointed to the council was Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut. NHDP Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement: "In Frank Edelblut, Governor Sununu appointed someone whose policies run counter to the ideas of diversity and inclusion. From his support of conversion therapy for minors to his opposition to transgender rights to his championing of a school voucher bill that would give taxpayer money to private and religious schools that can ban transgender students, Edelblut is far from the person New Hampshire needs to ensure diversity & inclusion in our state. The fact that Governor Sununu considers Edelblut to be a model for these values raises questions about his judgement and detracts from the good work the council may accomplish."
